Who is CAPCO SYSTEMS and where did they come from? How long have they been in business?, and do they offer a complete line of office technology solutions? The answers to these important questions are as follows, and hopefully offer some insight into our philosophy as a business, and into how we have achieved such high regards within the business community through the years.

Who is CAPCO SYSTEMS? CAPCO SYSTEMS is the oldest dealer of office equipment in the City of Houston, having been established in 1906.

Where did CAPCO SYSTEMS come from? Originally, the company was located at 408 San Jacinto, in downtown Houston, under the founding name of “Houston Typewriter Exchange”. Today, the company owns and maintains both property and building at 4719 S. Main

How long has CAPCO SYSTEMS been in business? As eluded to above, CAPCO SYSTEMS has been in business since 1906. Originally established under the name Houston Typewriter Exchange, the owners decided to change the “d.b.a.” to CAPCO SYSTEMS in 1992. The name change was a necessary business decision to change with and reflect the current and future image of the commercial office equipment industry. However,ownership remains unchanged.

CAPCO SYSTEMS is one of the longest standing members of the Business Technology Association, having been a member since January 1, 1944.

CAPCO SYSTEMS is the first dealer of CANON brand office equipment in the four state region (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas), having been given the first distributorship back in 1962.Originally, dealing only CANON brand electronic calculators.

CAPCO SYSTEMS was the first authorized dealer of CANON brand NP commercial office copiers in the City of Houston, back in 1971.

CAPCO SYSTEMS is a full line CANON brand digital imaging systems dealer, also carrying the full line of CANON laser facsimile products. We compliment the full line of commercial systems with complete on-site technical support, with our CANON factory trained technicians. We are also a fully authorized service facility for CANON brand printer products and related peripherals.

CAPCO SYSTEMS is exclusively CANON. CANON is the only brand that we sell, and the only brand that we service. CAPCO SYSTEMS has remained exclusively CANON since the introduction of the product line to Houston back in 1962. We firmly believe (and always have) that CANON brand products are the absolute best quality products on the market. By concentrating on one manufacturer, we are able to meet any and all of your office needs with the best, rather than attempt to discuss multiple product brands. It is our belief that when you represent a manufacturer, you represent the best, period. Competitors may talk about carrying multiple brands as if it is in your best interest. But, ask yourself one simple question...is the one brand that you choose the best quality and value for your application?, or is it providing the greatest profit and/or commission for the salesperson?

Why is any of this so important, anyway?

As you are well aware, we live in an age of great competition. It seems that everyone makes promises of great service, support and other important factors. Unfortunately, not everyone can actually deliver a track record of such great success. The proof may lie in the longevity of the business you are dealing with. Anyone can (and does) give great references. Let’s face it, would you give out a poor reference? However, we at CAPCO SYSTEMS have no problem with any of our customers discussing openly our track record of success from both the sales and service aspects, as well as the way we treat our prospects and customers. You simply do not stay in business for 93+ years by doing things incorrectly, or treating people unfairly. While no one is perfect, we certainly do not let that stop us from trying. We build relationships. We focus on the entire needs of the customers we deal with, rather that simply attempting to sell a product. If you are not satisfied, you will tell others, and this we do not want. This “old fashioned” but rock steady philosophy is exactly why we have been around longer than most businesses in this region, and is exactly why we will be around for many more years to come.
